About
My name is Rosalys. I am a 38 year old BA (Hons) photographer and graphic designer from South Wales, UK. I first got in to Photography at a young age, and my journey began after studying A Level Graphic Design for three years. During this time I gained more knowledge of simple photography methods and realised this was the pathway for me.I was finally able to move on to more advanced photography learning while completing my Foundation Art, Media and Design Diploma at the University of Wales, Newport (University of South Wales), which I graduated from in September 2012. Following on from this I completed a BTEC Extended Diploma at Cardiff and Vale College, exhibiting my work at the Butetown History & Arts Centre. I studied a 2 year Foundation Degree and graduated with a BA (Hons) in Creative Industries (Photography) in 2016. My work has been exhibited at venues such as the Pierhead Building in Cardiff Bay, Redhouse in Merthyr Tydfil, Cynon Valley Museum Aberdare and Workers Gallery, Ynyshir. I work with both digital and film equipment, which allows me to focus on documentary photography and experiment with abstract and fine art projects.Much of my work post graduation has focused on portraits, model/studio photography and live music/bands. During this time I have also created music videos for bands in the South Wales music scene, experience working in social media marketing, designing promotion content and venue photographer at a local music venue as well as experience with reviewing music (featured independently, TIWN Magazine and online with Original Rock) Publications include Twisted Edge Magazine, SoundBoard Magazine, TIWN Magazine and SWND Magazine Issue 5 cover image.
